Alexandria Bay
We were in Alexandria Bay for a few hours, a little over an hour from the house, to see Boldt Castle on the Thousand Islands. The way there, there were tons of rolling hills and old farms to look at. We also passed this abandoned building shaped like a boat complete with mannequins. There was also what appeared to be an abandoned mini golf course in the back of it.
We got lost once, but down a side street was an abandoned gas station and building that looked like it might have been a store. I saw an old credit card sign on the outside, but the grass was so high it was hard to get too close to the building.
The town is pretty small, but has a lot of cool things to see on the main strip. Mainly the two HUGE old signs that look like they were new in the 60s. These are some of the best signs i've seen ever.
We didn't eat at either of the restaurants advertised on the signs, but found a really cool little restaurant that has parts of boats and other nautical things hanging from the ceiling outside. They also had really good fried shrimp !!
