Governors Island
Friday was our first time returning to Governors Island for the season, it opened at the beginning of the month. It was very quiet on the island, hardly anybody there walking around, so it seemed mostly abandoned and was great for taking pictures of things.
This is a small part of the island I've never explored, a patch that runs along the back of some of the buildings that line the water. This small yellow house, not sure what it used to be, was in the middle of it.
The abandoned old pool and kiddy pool, I tried to take a picture of these last year as my camera was running out of battery. The kid's pool has a little whale in the middle of it and a lot of green growing around it.
This is the biggest building on the island, Liggett Hall.
The hospital on the island was usually all coved up because the bike rentals were in front of it, but it was totally empty and easy to see the whole building.
The library, one of the "newer" looking buildings is always a favorite of mine when we pass, on the other side of it you can look in and see the ruined inside.
View from the ferry on the way back to Manhattan.
